Ellena’s Notes
We have served this cake many times here at the winery and it always gets rave reviews! I love the different colors this cake has with the grapes, cake, and decorating sugar. It is sooo easy to make and sooo easy to transport and serve! Perfect for potlucks or tailgaters!
This is scrumptious with our Orange Moscato, Sweet Riesling, or Maywine.

Directions
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Light coat a 10″ spring form pan with olive oil. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and olive oil together until smooth. Beat in the eggs, orange zest, and vanilla. Add the flour mixture and wine and mix well, until there is a smooth batter. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the grapes evenly over the batter. Bake for 20 mins, then sprinkle cake with colored decorating sugar, and continue baking for 8-10 more minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove cake from oven and let cool in pan for 20 minutes. Remove the sides of the pan and serve either slightly warm, or at room temperature.
