Latah Creek Reserve Nebbiolo 2021
When it comes to the term RESERVE, my Dad and I have a deep respect for its significance. Wines bearing this prestigious label are chosen for their exceptional varietal character and impeccable balance, from the moment of harvest to the final bottling. RESERVE wines are not produced every year, but when they are, they represent a true gem in the world of wine. These special bottles have the potential to age beautifully over the next decade, yet they can also be enjoyed right now without hesitation.
Natalie’s Tasting Notes
I constantly seek out distinctive grape varieties, and Nebbiolo is one that I have been hunting for years. The intricate balance of fruit, acidity, and tannins creates a harmonious palate. The aromas of bing cherry and rose bring elegance and complexity to the wine, while the subtle hints of dried herbs, cranberry, and rose hips add layers of depth to the tasting experience. Even though the wine may seem lighter, its robust tannic structure leaves a lasting impression and will allow the wine to age gracefully for the next 5-10 years.
Food Pairing
This wine’s high acid and intense fruit are wonderful with fatty meats and red sauces, such as Ellena’s Bucatini Bolognese with Brussels Sprouts available online and in her latest cookbook.
